Spaces, assets and recipes

How spaces, assets, recipes, references, links and credits fit together.

makefx uses six nouns. They describe the whole record shared by the web app, MCP and the command line.

Space

A space is the thing you and your agent work in. Its canvas holds the assets and their connections. A space belongs to one account and can be made public by link for read-only review.

Asset

An asset is one image, video or audio file. Every new result is a new asset, so alternatives sit as separate cards on the canvas. Star the results you want to keep prominent or export.

Deleting an asset removes it from normal reads without erasing its media, recipe or credit trail.

Recipe

A recipe records how an asset was made: model, prompt, settings and references. A recipe written by makefx for a generated asset does not change. An uploaded asset may have a declared recipe that someone with edit access can correct.

Providers can change, so a recipe is not a promise that another call will produce identical pixels. It is the exact record needed to understand the result and continue deliberately.

Reference

A reference is an ordered asset supplied to a model input slot. It is part of the new asset's recipe. An image might guide a subject or style; a frame might fix where a video starts.

Link

A link is a manual labeled edge between two assets. It can describe story or sequence, but it is not provenance. Provenance comes from the references stored in recipes.

Credit

A credit is €0.01 of prepaid generation spend. Credits belong to the account that owns the space. The price appears before generation, and each ready generated asset records its charge.

The main actions are generate, upload, Use current model, Use recorded model, Use as reference, move, link, unlink, edit, Describe, Copy recipe, delete, star, top up and export. Start with the quickstart.
