Terms

Terms

The terms credits are sold under: what a credit buys, how tax and invoices work, and how to withdraw from a purchase.

These terms cover buying credits and spending them on makefx. They are written from the code that runs the service and the commerce contract it implements, and they change when those do. What is stored about you is on the privacy page; the way to reach a person is on the contact page.

Who these terms are with

makefx is published by Aleksei Krasnoperov, a sole trader in Spain. The consumer rights named below are the ones Spanish law gives you. These terms are written for that publisher: a deployment of this software published by anyone else replaces this page rather than inheriting it. Where these terms say to write, the contact page is the way: it carries whatever channel this deployment publishes.

Your account

Signing in with Google creates a personal account, and you can create a team account beside it. Each account holds its own balance.

An owner of an account can add credits to it and retrieve its billing documents. An editor can spend that balance but cannot top up or see the billing documents. The account that owns a space is the account that pays for what is made in it, whether you or your agent made it.

Credits

One credit is €0.01, and credits never expire. There are two top-ups:

Top-upCredits
€202,000 credits
€10010,000 credits

Those amounts are net. Tax is calculated at checkout where it applies, so what you pay may be more than the amount above; the credits you receive never change with it. There is no subscription, no plan, no trial and no free tier, and no volume discount: a credit costs the same at either top-up. A new account starts at zero and can read every public space without paying anything.

What a generation costs

Every request shows its price before it runs, and every asset keeps what it cost. The price is the catalog price at the moment of the request, and where a model bills by what it produces, the amount shown is the most that request can cost. You are charged when the asset lands. A failed generation costs nothing, and a balance never goes below zero.

Taking a frame out of a video and uploading a file of your own are free. The browser timeline is currently unavailable.

Paying

Payment is taken by Stripe. Stripe collects the billing name, address and tax ID needed to work out the tax and to issue the invoice; makefx never sees or stores your card details. Credits land on the account once Stripe confirms the payment — closing the browser afterwards does not stop that, and a payment still being confirmed is shown as pending rather than counted.

Withdrawing from a purchase

As a consumer you have 14 days from the purchase to withdraw from it and be reimbursed. If you were not given the information the law requires you to be given, that period is longer.

makefx does not ask you to give up that right in advance. There is no consent checkbox at checkout and nothing in these terms that takes the right away once the payment has gone through, once the credits are available, or once you have started generating with them.

To exercise it, write to the publisher through the contact page and say which purchase you mean. You do not need to be signed in, and there is no form. It helps to include the date and amount, and the email address the purchase was made from, so it can be matched to the right account. Requests are answered by a person, and a reimbursement is made through the payment it came from.

The rights themselves, and the time a reimbursement must be made in, come from the Spanish consumer statute, Articles 102 to 108 of the consolidated text.

Refunds outside withdrawal

Unused credits are not otherwise refundable. The exception is an error made by the operator, which is put right the same way. There is no cash-out, and credits cannot be moved between accounts.

Invoices

Stripe issues an invoice for every purchase; its own invoice page is where to view or download it. makefx does not host a second copy, and no invoice is shown inside the product. If you cannot find yours, ask through the contact page and it will be found for you.

What makefx itself shows you about a purchase is a confirmation, not a fiscal invoice. The invoice is the Stripe document.

Deleting things

Deleting an asset or a space hides it everywhere and keeps the record of what it was, who made it, and who deleted it. Media and recipes are kept behind that.

Deleting your account is asked for through the contact page, from the address on the account, and is carried out by hand: there is no button for it in the product yet. Purchases, invoices and the credit record are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require, which is longer than the account itself. Deleting your user does not delete a team account you shared, its balance or its invoices, or the work of the people still in it.

Reporting a problem

A problem with a purchase, a space or an asset can be reported through the contact page, with or without an account. Give the reference and enough of the reason to act on. Access to reported content can be restricted, or the content soft-deleted, when that is warranted; a report does not by itself refund credits.
